Unlocking Double Legendary Pattern - Do You Have Enough Reputation?

  • 2022-03-16 14:26:10
  • Second legendary Unlock
  • Zereth Mortis Flying Unlock

Double Legendaries will be available with the weekly reset of March 22nd. Players looking to craft the new Unity runecarving pattern must reach Revered with The Enlightened with that weekly reset before doing so. While not mandatory for double legendaries, there are many benefits to doing so.
We're going to take a look at how much rep can you obtain before double legendaries become available while doing only minimal weekly and daily chores. If you haven't reached Revered yet, assuming you have done all activities for this week, there are the following big reputation gains to be earned.
Available on the Week of March 15th
Patterns Within Patterns - 1250 rep
 Antros - 500 rep
Chapter 6 from Zereth Mortis Campaign - 500 rep
7x 375 rep from World Quests
Total: 4875 rep during the March 15th week.
Players who start this week at 7125 rep into Honored or higher will reach Revered before the March 22nd maintenance, as long as they complete the activities above. But what about players with less rep?
Extra Weekly Reset
Players looking to unlock their Unity recipe on the weekly reset for March 22nd still have some extra sources of reputation that are available after that reset.
Available on March 22nd
Patterns Within Patterns - 1250 rep
 Antros - 500 rep
Chapter 7 from Zereth Mortis Campaign - 500 rep
1x 375 rep from World Quests
Total: 2625 rep available on March 22nd.
With that extra weekly reset worth of rep, players that are at least at 4500 into Honored can reach Revered with The Enlightened just by doing their weekly chores and daily world quests, without any extra rep from rares or contracts.
Catching up on The Enlightened Reputation - Rares and Contracts
Players that haven't reached 4500 into Honored and are still looking to unlock Unity during the first day it is available have some catch up options. The first is to kill rares in Zereth Mortis. Each rare gives 10 or 15 rep, depending on its difficulty, meaning you can get around 300 rep per day as long as you kill every rare available in the zone in a given day.
Other option, as players have reached revered already is to purchase  Contract: The Enlightened. With it, every world quest you complete in any Shadowlands zone will give you 10 reputation with The Enlightened, which translates to another 200 to 300 reputation per day as long as you clear every world quest in the map.
With those two catch-up methods, you can earn extra 500 reputation per day by completing it all, or another extra 4000 reputation before the March 22nd weekly reset.
Do I need to be Revered with The Enlightened for Double Legendary?
No.
Once you complete Chapter 7, you will receive your class-specific Belt of Unity, which is a 265 legendary belt with the Unity effect. While this seems all nice and dandy, there are some drawbacks:
Belt of Unity cannot be upgraded to 291, it is permanently at 265.
You need to complete Chapter 7 on every character that wants to use the Belt of Unity, while the Unity runecarving pattern is account-wide, so can be used by alts once one character unlocks it.
Belt of Unity, as the name implies, is a belt. The Unity runecarving recipe can be crafted in any legendary slot, allowing for total flexibility.
