Here is some details about the Heart of Azeroth:
“First, players can carry the Heart of Azeroth throughout the entire expansion. It is the new “Artifact Weapon”.
Second. It is empowered by Azerite and automatically absorb any nearby Azerite. No loss of bag space or time spent clicking!
Third. Once the Heart of Azeroth absorbs enough Azerite, it can level up. Upon reaching certain levels, it will awaken some latent properties in another piece of gear.”

“This tier looks untouched, as it was revealed during BlizzCon that this would home the most powerful traits.
Azerite Empowered - Increases the item level this item by 5.
This tier seems to provide only utility/defensive traits for both classes, as shown below. As previously announced, there won't be throughput traits in the same rings as utility/defensive traits.
Resounding Protection - Every 30 sec, gain an absorb shield for (31 * 5) for 6 sec.
Astral Shift - Increases the damage reduction of Astral Shift by an additional 77%.
Swiftness - Increases your movement speed by 77% of your Haste, up to 77.”
